Digital Photography At Night Made Easy

Many things happen at night that would make excellent subjects for a photograph. In the past we were never able to capture these things on film so we just missed out on some spectacular events. People tried but it was most often not successful so eventually the idea was abandonded. In those days trying to take pictures in the dark was nothing more than a waste of film. But how things have changed!

Digital Photography in the Dark

Photography has always been creative and highly technical but digital photography has revolutionized the way this industry does business. Photographers are able to capture things nobody ever even imagined photographing of before.
While the principles of digital night photography are very much the same as the more traditional photography processes, there are a few principles added that must be learned. Anyone familiar with photography will easily adapt to these minor differences.

The idea behind digital night photography is basically the slower shutter speeds. This allows for more light to actually enter into the picture. This creates a problem, for those rush photographers who think every picture should be taken in half of a second.

Tripods

Thankfully, taking pictures at night has changed photography to such a degree that most cameras already come with the features that are needed to do it. Most people who make attempts at digital night photography will have a tripod with then and other equipment that is often needed.

A tripod is extrememly necessary to the digital night photography experience because the process behind digital night photography is extended exposure. This means that it will take the camera a longer period of time to actually store the image of the picture into the camera's digital memory system. This makes the probability of blurriness much greater if the camera moves during this exposure time.

There is so much to see after dark that has never been able to be photographed. Now we can have lasting memories of those events. Now that we have slower shutter speeds, longer exposure times, and rapidly advancing digital night photography technology there are infinitly more Kodak moments right at your fingertips.
